Librarian Day Celebration 12/08/2014

          We have celebrated Librarian Day on 12/08/2014. Drawing, Essay, Elocution Competitions, Open Quiz were organised for Students. Around 70 Students participated in these Competitions. Dance, Drama, Pattimanram were also  organised. Around 20 students  were participated. One Library Student Secretary
& 9 Library Student Joint Secretary were involved in it.Participation Certificate to the participants & Prizes to the winners were given. Events  become great  as  they inculcate Reading Habit among Student.
          The highlight of the programme is that We have published Students' handwritten Magazine "Kandepam". It is great to see Student's thoughts come to written format.

Indian Conference-Abstracting Database (ICon-AD)

Indian Conference-Abstracting Database (ICon-AD) is one of the non-profit initiatives of Library and Information Centre of Nagindas Khandwala College, Mumbai (affiliated to University of Mumbai). It is a database comprised of abstracts submitted to various conferences (international/ national/ state level) organized by Indian colleges, universities, corporate firms, government agencies etc. This database aims to archive all the abstracts received by Indian organizers of conferences. It acts as a connecting platform for organizers of conferences, authors, and readers.
This innovative initiative is the idea of Sri.Santosh C Hulagabali, Librarian of Nagindas Khandwala College, Mumbai.

We are one of the participating Institute of this Project. Our college has contributed the proceedings of the National Conference on “Innovative Librarianship” held on March, 28, 2013.

        Library has organised Fresher Orientation Programme for our First Year Students with power point presentation. Dramas also acted by our III Physics students on Inculcating Reading Habit. Students were enjoyed.

Library 2.014 Worldwide Virtual Conference, October 8 - 9, 2014

Library 2.014 Worldwide Virtual Conference is organized by School of Library and Information Science, San Jose State University, California, United States on October 8 - 9, 2014. We have proud to say that Our College, Sri Sarada College for Women, Tirunelveli is one of the partner organizations of the conference
Everyone can submit a presentation proposal and participate in this free event. There are no registration fees and no travel requirements. The entire conference will be held online via web conferencing, with presentations held in multiple languages and scheduled around the clock over the course of the two days. The deadline to submit presentation proposals is October 1, 2014.

Webinar "KOHA the first open-source Integrated Library System (ILS): An overview of its functions" on 22nd of May 2014

              I have participated in the Webinar "KOHA the first open-source Integrated Library System (ILS): An overview of its functions"  organised by AIMS, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, me, Italy,  scheduled for Thursday 22nd of May 2014 at 1600 hrs Rome time. Around 60 participants from various countries were participated. Excited to see the people from various countries at one place.

UGC NET GUIDANCE CLASS on 19/05/2014

               With our College Management's support, UGC NET preparation, guidance class has been organised for one student. The duration was 2 hours only. Library & Information Science II paper & III paper - Preparation methods & Techniques to be followed have been discussed. Study materials were given to him.
