       I have participated, presented & received Best Paper Award for the paper on "Information Literacy - Librarians as Facilitators of Learning" in the National Conference on "Recent Trends in Library & Information Science" at Hindustan University, Chennai on April 12 &13, 2013. Conference was well organised.

          Library has organized National conference on Innovative Librarianship on 28^th March 2013. Welcome Address was given by Selvi. B.Vijayalakshmi, Convener & Librarian, SSC. Smt.C.Hema, External Advisor & Librarian, Madura College who is behind this Conference’s success has introduced the National Conference. Yatiswari Saravanabhavapriya Amba Patron & Secretary, SSC has blessed the gathering. Dr.K.Subramaniam, Pro Vice Chancellor, Vivekananda Yoga University, Banglore has given the Inaugural address, Secretary Amba has released the Conference Proceedings with ISBN No. 978-81-926040-0-8 and Dr.K.Subramaniam has received the first copy. 74 Articles and 7 abstracts of various Authors from different places of Kerala, Karnataka, Andra Pradesh, Chennai, Tiruchencode, Thiruppathur, Salem, Dindugul, Madurai, Chidambaram and so on have been published. Dr.A.Thirumagal & Dr.C.Martin Arochiasamy have given the Felicitation Address. Key note Address was given by Dr.S.Humayoon Kabir, Associate professor University of Kerela, Tiruvendram Smt M.Mahalakshmi, Assistant professor MCA Department has delivered Vote of Thanks.

          After the tea Break, The first paper presentation session started. Dr.S.Humayoon Kabir and Smt C.Hema have been acted as Chair person and reported respectively. Ten participants from various Colleges, Universities, Cities have been presented their paper Second paper presentation session was started at 2.00 pm  Dr.A.Thirumagal and Dr.C.Martin Arockiasamy have acted as chief person and reported 15 papers have been presented in different themes.

          Valedictory function began at 4pm Smt.M.Lalitha, Asst Professor, English Dept, SSC has given welcome Address. Valedictory Address and Best paper Award Announcement have given by Smt.C.Hema. Secretary Yatiswari Saravanabhavapriya Amba has honoured Best Paper Presentation Award for Librarians to Shri.K.Ramasamy, Kendra Vidyala Madurai, and Best Paper Presentation Award for Students to Selvi Kowsalya, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi. Amba and Principal honoured all the participants by giving the Certificates & Mementos to the Library Staff Smt.R.Arunachalam, Smt S.Muthukumari, Smt P.Vijayalakshmi, Smt A.Alagu Muthammal & Smt M.Lalitha, Smt S.Chitra of English Dept, SSC. Vote of Thanks was given by Smt. S.Chitra, Asst Professor, English Dept, SSC.  With the National Anthem, Conference came to an end.
