About the
College:
“The only service to be given is to
give…. that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is
increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s own
leg”. So goes the emphatic message of Swami Vivekananda. Inspired by this
ideal, Swami Chidbhavananda, the great saint, seer and savant, widely known for
the power and depth of his spirituality, founded SriRamakrishna Tapovanam, Thirupparaithurai,
Trichy.
Among the seven colleges run by Sri
Ramakrishna Tapovanam, Sri
Sarada College
for Women, Tirunelveli was started in 1986 to cater to the educational needs of
the women of the southern districts of the Tamilnadu. The college was started
with 60 Students in 3 U.G Courses. Now the college has grown to students’
strength of 1337 with 10 UG Courses and 3 PG Courses.
Our College is accredited “B Grade”
- CGPA 2.76 out of 4 by NAAC. Our college is publishing “Pragnavani”, the Multi
Disciplinary Research Journal with ISSN No 2249 – 6017.
About the
library:
Library plays a very important role in
any educational institution. Library
fulfills the educational purposes of the students. Library is the part of their education. We
classify books according to Deway Decimal classification. We are using Delplus software, for Automation
of Library. We have Sarada Library, separate departmental libraries for M.C.A.
M.Com (C.A.)
M.Sc. Maths and also Book bank books, Specimen copy books for each department.
We have special collection of 4 Vedas, Sanskrit books, subject dictionaries,
Gazetteers, Lexicons, encyclopedias and competitive exam books. There are
25,780 books in our Library, 36 Journals, 54 Magazines. We have been member of
Delnet & NList.
About the
Seminar:
The advent of internet and the rapid
development of the World Wide Web in the past decade have brought about a great
change in the profession of librarianship. The role of a librarian has changed
to that of a facilitator, information manager, and counselor and so on. The
seminar aims to provide a platform for the students, research scholars and
library professionals to retrospect, analyze and share their experience and
expertise from different perspectives to enrich their knowledge.

the above themes. Other papers relevant to the main theme are also welcome. Contributors
are requested to send a soft copy of their papers through e-mail as per the
following guidelines.
The
document should be typed in,
Ø A4 sheet, single
column.
Ø 1.5 line space,
times new Roman font 12 size
Ø Titles should be
in bold, font size 14.
Ø Sub Titles
should be in bold, font size 13.
Ø Author
affiliation below the title should be in font size 10.
Ø Abstract should
have maximum 100 words
Ø Maximum of 5
keywords.
Ø Maximum 8 pages
Ø References as
per MLA.
Publication of
post conference proceedings:
Selected papers shall be published in the
post conference volume bearing an ISBN no.
General

Ø The maximum no.
of authors per paper must be only three.
Ø The maximum no.
of papers either by collaboration or individually, is only two.
Ø Only papers
submitted along with the registration fee shall be considered for presentation
and publication in the post conference proceedings.
